THOUGHT FOR TODAY - HOW CAN WE GLORIFY GOD?
THOUGHT OF THE DAY - How can we glorify God?
Jesus said the Father is glorified when we “bear much fruit.”
What kind of fruit?
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV
To bear much fruit we must "abide in Jesus."
4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 "I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.
7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8 "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:4-8 KJV
To bear the "fruit of the Spirit” – you have to have God's Spirit - be born of the Spirit - have His Seed in you.
5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6 NKJV
How do you get “born of the Spirit?” It’s by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You must recognize that you are a sinner and you can’t save yourself and receive the free gift of salvation that God gave us in Christ.
Jesus became a human to take upon Himself our sin. He had to pay the penalty for that sin - which was death and separation from God. He defeated death and hell and rose again from the dead, so you can be “born of God’s Spirit” and get His DNA - His Seed – so you can bear spiritual fruit.
Abiding is resting and trusting the Lord for everything in your life. It’s getting to know the Lord through talking to Him and meditating on His Word every day. Then, you’ll bear much fruit and glorify the Father.
